TRICAST Implements Massive Virtualization Upgrade to Infrastructure

Milwaukee, WI (December 15, 2011) — TRICAST Inc. recently implemented a 100% virtualized infrastructure environment aimed at improving the scalability, redundancy, and—most importantly—performance of our rapidly growing business. This feat, made possible by partnering with industry leaders Cisco®, NetApp®, and Vmware® , enables TRICAST to better service the increasing needs of both internal and external customers.

Data–and its related storage—is at the heart of everything TRICAST does, and as our data storage needs grow, so will our NetApp Disk storage array. Our initial implementation features a 30TB NetApp array of raw storage to house the data we receive from our clients. We can scale this array of disks to multiple petabytes with very little effort. NetApp’s ability to scale up to large data volumes allows the disk needs to grow with TRICAST.

Using VMware as our server platform has really revolutionized how we do our daily work at TRICAST. For example, the ability to “spin up” a new Development or Test server in a matter of minutes, a task that formerly would have taken weeks to receive and implement, has definitely increased our throughput and decreased our time to market on new projects.
